ball and chain...

Well almost... In Phoenix, Arizona, the Sheriff´s department puts selected inmates in "Chaingangs" just like the old days. Sheriff Joe Arpaio runs a tight ship in his county. The prisoners live outside in tents, eat only 2 meals a day (30 cents/day), wear pink underware and striped clothing. Working on a chaingang is voluntary for the prisoners. They see it as an opportunity to get outside the jail house walls, get an extra meal and even a chance to sleep inside. 3 guys to 1 small cell, but inside... During their 31 days, consequtive days, of walking in chains, they clean up trash in the streets, help bury poor people and other various labor.
It´s a "hairy" job but somebody´s got to do it...

p.s. Look carefully and you´ll see the pink "undies"... d.s.
