Paraguay...

About the size of Sweden and with 6 million people living here, Paraguay is an interesting country. It is nested in the middle part of Latin America, between Argentina and Brazil. The minimun wage here is low, $137 (1050 SEK) per month. Buying a newpaper is more expensive than going to a soccer game, and corruption is widespread. A doctor working for the state makes only $140 a month. A filet mignon at a resturant is only $6 which is a dream for us, but if you´re only making minimun wage it will take a chunk out of you paycheck...

We´re here to do a few stories on soccer and Paraguay in general, since they are in our group in the World Cup later this year. Soccer is everywhere. Kids are playing in the street or wherever they can set up a couple of goal posts. And of course, no shoes...
