Driving into the lower 9th Ward of New Orleans, almost 3 months after Katrina hit, was earie. It was 2 months since we were here last, and not much has changed. The same red SUV is in the middle of the street, and the devestation is still overwhelming.
The streets have been cleared of some debris but torn down houses and destroyed cars still line the neighborhood. One statistic sounds like this: 700 trucks are working to remove the debris. IF?! they worked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, it would still take 3,5 years to get the job done!! Imagine...
Pictures from the lower 9th ward... This is just 100m from where the levy broke and this is all that´s left of the neighborhood...

Tomorrow is the day of giving thanks.....
