New York is a city with roughly 8 million people. There are lots of pedestrians, cars, buses and crazy drivers. Also, no one here waits for a green light when crossing the street. The other day I saw a guy running out into the street, dodging cars over 5 lanes of traffic with a Starbucks Coffee in one hand!
Today I saw 2 accidents. The first was a guy hit while riding his bike up on 48th St. and 5th Av. The other was someone hit by a bus near my apartment. Groceries scattered all over the street, and remains still stuck between the back wheels...
The 20 seconds saved by not waiting for the green light could be costly...
