There are roughly 4 000 000 swedes or people with swedish blood lines in the US, and Minnesota houses a lot of them. There are over 400 place names with Scandinavian origin in this state alone. Lindsborg, Lund, Malmo Ronneby, and Duvemåla are a few of them... Duvemåla is also the setting for the famous musical "Kristina från Duvemåla". There is even a house where the fictional characters supposedly lived...
Not so fictional are the swedish roots here. Going to the local cemetary and seeing mostly Swedish names on the head stones was a weird feeling...
We´re here because Benny Andersson (of ABBA) his orchestra, Helen Sjöholm and Tommy Körberg performed at a dinner/concert last night. Awesome performance that ran ´til 00.30!
